Understaffed, Overwhelmed, and Struggling to Find The Perfect Hire
Get The Referral, a SaaS company specializing in branded apps for the home services industry, faced a common challenge in mid-2023 when a key member of their small marketing team departed. This left the remaining team members with significantly increased workloads and responsibilities.
Mikalya Martinsen, the Senior Marketing Manager found herself managing both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations, a situation that quickly became unsustainable.
Despite using advanced project management software to plan her tasks, it became clear that the team needed additional support to maintain their marketing momentum and meet their goals.
“Initially, we were not looking for another marketing operations manager, but a marketing coordinator or another marketing manager that would do some of the general stuff that I didn't do a lot in HubSpot. At that point, we just could not find the right person. It was hard to figure out what we wanted and exactly the things that that person would have,” Mikalya says.
Pinpointing the ideal candidate also proved difficult. Despite finding some promising individuals, minor aspects didn't fit, making the decision-making process tough.
